It’s awesome! When I invested in this I was like “Is it really worth ~double the price for a rolling case and these hing-clamp things?” and then I was on set with my 54″ rails, desperately needed MUCH longer rails and was able to send out for a set of 8-foot just… pipes! From the local Home Depot!
Thirty-bucks later (and a pair of DEFINITELY not standard-diameter pipes), I am so glad I went ahead and got the universal kit! Right now, I’m using the baby-pin diameter center hole on the end units to hold everything up (get’s a bit wobbly on C-Stands), so I definitely recommend getting a proper shorty stand with 1-1/8″ diameter junior pin coupler (or combo head). American Grip makes a really good stand made specifically for the Dana Dolly.
Also, stacking apple boxes and flipping the rail upside down makes for an incredibly sturdy sliding experience.
