Transcend DrivePro Body 30 Body Camera 64GB TS64GDPB30A

Mi dispiace fare recensioni così lunghe, ma è bene capire cosa abbiamo davanti, essendo che il prezzo non è così basso…
Mi risparmio cose tipo la spedizione, l’imballaggio, l’unboxing e la confezione senno questa recensione finite di leggerla domani, tendenzialmente tutto bene, segnalo che ho comprato anche il kit di accessori di fissaggio aggiuntivi (poichè la clip a pinza che ruota e il velcro sono soluzioni un po’ limitate, il kit ulteriore costa 50 euro, più garanzia amazon di 2 anni…insomma…350 e passa euro ho pagato il tutto.)
Mi arriva a casa il giorno dopo, ovviamente prime imbattibile (spero rimanga sempre così) apro le confezioni, estraggo i prodotti, scarico l’app sul pc e l’app sul telefono e iniziano le sclerate.
Badate bene, io sono un informatico neofita, so programmare in python e per la sicurezza informatica del mio luogo di lavoro ho sviluppato un antiphisher personalizzato secondo le nostre esigenze, per cui, permettetemelo, di certe cose me ne intendo…ma non qui.
qui c’è il mistero, qua partono problemi assurdi che, inizialmente, non hanno una risposta, poi contattando transcend america (transcend italia occupata solo a mandarti email dicendo che sono fuori ufficio e di contattare altri colleghi che a loro volta sono fuori ufficio) sfortunatamente, mi è più chiaro.
ma proseguiamo con ordine.
Il primo avvio tutto normale, l’app funziona abbastanza bene, anche il toolbox, imposto ciò che mi serve da impostare e inizio la mia prova sul campo.
lavoro nelle forze armate, per cui avere una ripresa utilizzabile in un processo penale o per qualsiasi altra esigenza è molto utile però…. questa ni.
durante il primo servizio, dopo 5 ore, si spegne….
I cc ad esempio fanno 4 turni,. da 6 ore ciascuno, la locale non ne parliamo, ancora meno…le guardie giurate 8/13 ore…. arrabbiato, stavo già per chiedere il reso.
reso perchè, non è possibile che con le funzioni che la fanno costare 350 euro la batteria duri 5 ore…ok, anche scrivendo a transcend la soluzione è : abbassa la qualità, disattiva gps ,disattiva luce notturna ecc ecc….grazie transcend, allora perchè ho scelto la vostra ? con una qualità scadente e senza nessuna funzione mi prendevo una action cam cinese e un fissaggio angolare sul petto, non trovi ? vabeh.
evito di litigare con qualche bot che risponde in automatico e provo il secondo giorno di servizio.
è vero, se disattivi pure i led di stato, gps e chi ne ha più ne metta e registri con l’aggiornamento della luce a 50 hz a 1080 30 fps la batteria dura 8 ore…e le riprese non sono neanche così male, stoppando il video e screenshottando si hanno degli ottimi fermi immagine dove si può in pochi secondi mostrare a superiori e company che quello che state dichiarando è vero (o è stato vero, nel caso sia un avvenimento nel passato) o se avete esigenze più precise, potete tranquillamente scaricare il video in questione direttamente dall’app transcend e inviarlo su whats app…per cui questo problema, vi devo dire la verità, è stato superato….con non poca rabbia, però alla fine se ci pensate sono riprese che nel 90 percento dei casi non serviranno a nulla, nel 10 percento è per cose gravi e non vi serve avere la qualità hollywoodiana per far presente che in quella banca c’era una persona stesa a terra…direi che anche registrando a 240 p si nota la presenza di una persona stesa a terra, per cui….
comoda la funzione buffering, dove la bodycam registra di continuo ma ogni tot elimina quello che ha registrato, così la memoria non si riempie mai, mentre invece dovesse succedere qualcosa vi basta premere un pulsante e inizierà a salvare il video dai 60 secondi prima della pressione del tasto a infinito, finchè non lo stoppate, il numero dei secondi ovviamente è settabile, io non uso questa funzione ma registro sempre 8 ore, perchè vabeh, come fate a sapere cos’è una cosa importante e cosa no ? in questo lavoro pure una mosca più grande del normale ti si può contestare, annoto che la durata della batteria non cambia, essendo che anche in buffering registra 8 ore, ma ogni 61 secondi elimina quello precedente.
il reale problema della bodycam, per cui, non è neanche la durata della batteria facilmente risolvibile, l’accoppiamento con l’app e la facilità di utilizzo, tutto perfetto, il problema vero è la stabilizzazione.
questa bodycam NON E’ STABILIZZATA!
ho chiesto a vari utenti qua su amazon e mi hanno detto che lo è, cosa impossibile essendo che transcend america stessa mi ha detto che non lo è, difatto andando ad annullare quello che c’è scritto nelle caratteristiche prodotto qua sopra, ovvero (immagine stabilizzata a 6 assi).
chiedo come sia possibile una cosa del genere e mi viene risposto che………nel mio modello non c’è stabilizzazione, perchè è’l’ultima uscita e ha delle limitazioni hardware…
a parte che non capisco come la prima uscita, quella obsoleta, abbia la stabilizzazione e questa , l’ultima, no.
mi informo ed effettivamente scopro che esistono tante versioni di questa drive pro body30, e capirci qualcosa, sinceramente, è un casino.
io ho il firmware 1.2 … mi hanno assicurato che è all’ultima versione, guardando online però vedo firmware più aggiornati, anche a 1.8 o addirittura 4.2…chiedo spiegazioni e quelli sono firmware diversi per diversi modelli della stessa bodycam….
capirci qualcosa è impossibile, forum online non ne esistono, non esiste un modo per forzare l’aggiornamento di un firmware specifico, hanno tutto segretamente custodito, e ci sta, ma prima che trovassi soluzioni assurde le riprese erano inutilizzabili, i video tremavano così tanto da causare nausee e mal di testa nel giro di pochi secondi, impossibile capire se eri all’aperto, dentro un edificio, se c’era pioggia, neve, grandine, vedevi delle luci muoversi tipo ufo sullo schermo e basta.
sistemando i metodi di fissaggio e inventandomene una più del diavolo sono riuscito in qualche modo a risolvere, ottenendo delle riprese QUASI DECENTI, che perlomeno facessero capire tutto se stoppate, analizzate, stabilizzate e renderizzate con un apposito software.
il discorso è semplice, vale 350 euro uno sclero di settimane per avere un terno al lotto, un modello imprecisato di bodycam, con software casuale, con assistenza molto scarsa nella vostra lingua e risposte automatiche nella lingua internazionale ? vale 350 euro dover comprare un accrocchio secondario per avere un angolazione decente (dato che, mi stavo dimenticando , non grandandola nulla, l’angolo di visione è insufficente per cui se la bodycam non è esattamente puntata dritta ma lievemente in alto, vedete i tetti delle case, le stelle e basta) ? insomma, tutti questi compromessi, tutte queste soluzioni raffazzonate, tutte queste informazioni un po’ a casaccio della casa madre, tutti i problemi descritti, valgono 350 euro ?
la risposta, ovviamente, è no !
ma la fascia consumer, questo offre, lo so anche io che c’è la axon 2, la reveal, bodycam professionali, assurde, che questi problemi beceri non le hanno, ma io, privato, quelle non le posso comprare.
questo è il massimo che si può comprare, e, sinceramente, la cosa mi rattrista e non poco.
non faccio neanche il reso proprio per questo motivo.
mi accontento.
consiglio che posso darvi è evitate di comprare questa bodycam, a meno che voi non siate avvezzi al mondo del fai da te e avete TANTO tempo libero per risolvere problemi.

WHEN THE CAMERA ACTUALLY WIRKS THE PICTURE AND VIDEO QUALITY IS JUST FINE. MY MAIN ISSUE WITH THIS PRODUCT IS RESETTING IT EVERY DAY OR EVERY OTHER DAY. RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX I STARTED HAVING ISSUES. MY MIND TOLD ME TO RETURN THE CAMERA NOW! I GAVE IT A CHANE FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF. FOR 265 THIS CAMERA IS HORRIBLE. DOWNLOAD TAKE FOREVER. IVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES CONNECTING TO MY PHONE. SAVE YOURSELVES THE GASSLE AND MONEY. DO NOT BUY AT ALL. THIS PRODUCT NEED TO BE TAKEN DOWN

UPDATE: so while the unit is still fantastic, there are some bugs in the software, and the battery barely lasts 6 hours without needing a recharge. Removing one star due to this. Needs to last at least a full eight hour shift.

So there’s a little bit of a back story I’d like to share after the review of the Drivepro Body 30. This was purchased for an evaluation to see if they would be as dependable as what our agency has been using (Body 10.)

Upon receipt, I set up the camera via windows software, downloaded the App to my iPhone, and then began the evaluation. This Body worn camera is FANTASTIC. It literally blows the doors off the Taser Axon, and is quite the upgrade from what we have – the Drivepro Body 10.

Construction seems more robust, U/I is improved, pre-event buffering is flawless AND it includes audio in the buffering which is HUGE!!! The video and audio quality is exceptional, and night vision is flawless, although if instances of bright-dark-bright-dark exist, it will stop switching between night vision and non night vision, making a guess which would be best.

In all this a solid unit, and it is very underpriced for its features and build quality. Data management is not proprietary, which is a potential savings of thousands of dollars per month – depending on department or agency size. I will be writing my recommendation for our agency to begin purchasing the Body 30 units as an upgrade to the Body 10, pending a field evaluation of this unit; which I’m confident will be trouble free.

Now, for the back story. About 2 years ago, I began looking into a way to save my admittedly smaller agency, some costs relating to body worn cameras. Long story short, I made a “short list” of Body Worn Cameras I’d never heard of, and researched them to the maximum extent possible.

I reached out to a university police department who exclusively used the Drivpro Body 10. Based on that conversation, I purchased one for evaluation. It was everything I had hoped it would be, and from a law enforcement perspective; it was pretty solid. Data management wasn’t proprietary – so we could save even more money, which was a huge plus. They’ve been working flawlessly for our personnel for at least two years now, with no issues or complaints. The Body 30 is a superior replacement which I’m confident will be a wonderful upgrade for us.

Ottimo apparecchio come da aspettative marca Transcend.
Questa è una bodycam di livello professionale equiparabile alla famosa Axon2 della quale condivide le caratteristiche come l’eccellente funzione “buffering”. Per chi lavora nel settore sicurezza e FF.OO., il poter registrare e repertare fino a due minuti antecedenti al momento dell’attivazione, è cruciale ed indispensabile.
Consiglio un’imbragatura o sistema di cinghiaggio per fissarla al centro del petto o spalla.
Altra funzione eccezionale è quella di poter lavorare in simbiosi con un telefono smartphone; potete scaricare immediatamente e visionare i file video sul vostro dispositivo. Ho utilizzato questa utilità più volte per analizzare l’intervento appena eseguito.
Le immagini, video ed audio è inutile dirlo, sono di qualità altissima. Ottimo anche il risultato notturno. Che dire, la consiglio sicuramente anche se trecento euro possono sembrare parecchi. Ma un avvocato per un consulto ed una sola lettera, quanto costa? 200-300 euro..presto fatto. Oltretutto è un ottimo deterrente.

Received the BodyCam, set the settings and test it out. While testing out, it stop working. I contact Transcend for help, very supportive. It’s working again, thanks to the Support. I continue messing around with the Operation of the Camera, thinking as many scenarios that I can think of. Thanks to the Support, I know what to do if the Camera stop working again. This will be my 3rd Body Cam and hopefully my last that I’ve owned, I previously own a BOBLOV for about 4 years. It still works BUT I was not able to pull footages out. While owning BOBLOV, I was still searching for a good quality, affordable that will fit my budget and can share any time when I need to. I’ve already purchase all the necessary accessories that I need. I purchase the Body 30 due to its reliable “Pre Recording or Buffering” feature. The only downside is, it takes a few seconds to go into “Pre Recording” mode after powering it on unlike the Transcend DrivePro Body 10, it starts recording immediately after powering it on. Keep in mind that Body 10 does not support “Pre Recording” mode. For those of you who doe not know what “Pre Recording” mode is, it records all the event but it is not save until you press the “Record” button. In this case, for Transcend DrivePro Body 30, you press 2 times to start recording otherwise it will not save. When you press 2 times, it will start recording and include the previous event then save.

I put the Body Cam on a field test. I’ve been searching for a Body Cam that I can do “Pre Recording or Buffering” mode that I can rely on while BOBLOV also has the feature BUT it was not reliable and battery life was only about 6 hours when I needed more. What I also like about the Transcend DrivePro Body 30 is the Stealth Mode and Phone App features, you can put it on Stealth Mode whenever you want and being able to pull footages on the go and share it. I am giving this a 4 star rating right now until I put it in more testing on the field.

While putting the body camera into field test, I’ve been noticing that the Microphone was having issues capturing voice from another person when viewing the footages on an iPhone, Mac and sharing to another person. I’ve reached out and again fantastic service, they help me out and trying to figure out what was the issue. Since I live in CA and not too far away from the HQ, instead of shipping it or receiving it, I decided to drive to the HQ instead because I really needed the body camera for work. Got a brand new batch camera to replace it under warranty. They also have been receiving reports of Microphone issues and this solves it. Time to put it into a test and will update later.
