I like the fact that after it’s mounted it looks like it is wired in. The red “recording” light is another plus. I mounted mine above my front door and placed a “This Property is Under Surveillance” sticker close to it. Looks like the real thing!

This is the second brand of fake security camera we purchased. The first did not have high reviews.
This WALI fake camera had 2,584 Review Ratings with almost 4.5 stars. So we thought it has to be better.
Nope – its very poor quality and poor assembly.
Sure these are low cost items – but that does not mean they have to be poor quality.
One of the two cameras we ordered was missing a part – if you look carefully at the photo you will see that the metal connector at one end of the battery compartment is missing. So can’t use batteries and can’t get the led light to work.

Four people live at my apartment complex where I am staying temporally. One night just before 5AM one of our car alarms went off. One of the guys woke the other up who’s car alarm was going off. They did not see anything but after a few minutes a police car came up and said that they had had several car break ins in the area over the last week.
The car alarm might have scared off whoever it was but I thought a little more to be wary of would not hurt. So after hearing about it the next day I ordered this and installed it near the door pointing towards the cars with the blinking light easily seen.
Someone here asked if the LED is 1.5 or 3 volt as they wanted to make a power supply for it instead of using batteries. I don’t think it matters. When I was in electronics school several people there wondered how much voltage an LED could stand. We burned out five or six of them and they all took between 26 and 32 volts before they died. I think all the components in this could take 3 volts without problems.
This is made to run on batteries so it is most likely undervolted for all the components to save power and have it run longer. If it is running at 1.5 volts running it at 3 volts will most likely make the LED a bit brighter. Of course I could be wrong and something in the circuit could only withstand 2 volts and then die but that seems unlikely.
I am only living here temporally so I will just leave this here when I leave and not go through the trouble of making a power supply for it myself.

This is a very nice pretend security camera. It mounts easily on a wall, and even has a fake camera lens, if you look carefully inside the dark plastic dome. It definitely looks like the real thing.
However, do yourself a favor. DO NOT INSTALL BATTERIES. Real security cameras of this type do not have blinking LEDs. If your camera blinks, you immediately tip off an intruder that the camera is fake.

The screw arm does not hold up the weight of the arm and it just keeps dropping down and will not hold its own weight. Also the main arm that is supposed to screw into the base to hold the hold the whole thing out from the wall won’t screw in far and tight enough to hold all of the extended weight.

Its cheap but effective. My house was broken into and i could not afford a security system at first.
I work in Loss Prevention. Which uses dummy cameras to make people believe that they cannot get away with a crime..
I bought a 12′ post and mounted this to a top of the post and placed it along the road that is in front of my house. I affixed an old cctv cable to the back of the pole and down into the ground.
I placed lithium batteries in it.
It worked well, but had to be replaced after 2 years. But at $12 . Thats $6 a year security.
You cant beat that
Many people have asked me about this camera. It draws attention. Not one person has guessed that its a dummy camera

I live in a rural area and some neighbors and I split the cost of a dumpster as a solution for lack of good garbage service and have done so for several years. We’ve had a few problems with trespassers and unauthorized use but nothing major at all. For some unexplained reasons (although I would bet it relates with the opioid crises) this became a MAJOR problem. The dumpster was abused on a regular basis. At least twice it was filled beyond capacity to the point that legitimate users could not use. It’s visible to at least 2 homeowners and we all kept vigil trying to catch the people in the act but we never did. We even went through the bags (Dumpster diving) at a few occasions and found mail (and empty Oxycontin bottles) with names. Sheriffs deputies were called on multiple occasions. Deputies did go to these homes and the people denied using the dumpster (as predicted) but we thought the prospect of being charged with trespassing would deter them. It didn’t. We installed deer cameras, actually identified one person but the magistrate refused to issue warrants. I bought this fake cam. I mounted it on a post that I placed facing the dumpster and about 10 feet from a utility pole. The utility pole has a black wire stapled down the length of the pole and disappearing into the ground. I mounted an electrical junction box under the fake camera, ran the wire through the box and into a piece of conduit that also disappears into the ground. It gives the distinct appearance that the wire on the utility pole (whatever it is) runs underground 10 feel to the camera post to provide power. There has not been a single incident of trespassing or unauthorized use since I put up the camera! We’ve already gotten more than my money’s worth in four months and may have prevented some pill head trespasser from legitimate pain.
